We are pleased to share a beautiful Charles Stinson home we are building for the AIA (American Institute Architects) 2017 Homes by Architects Tour in September.
Set into a steep hillside forest, this glass-wrapped tree house ascends three levels into a canopy of oak and maple. In lieu of a yard, untouched woodland keeps nature close and minimizes maintenance. With bedrooms below, main living in the middle, arrival is on top. A pre-cast concrete auto bridge leads to the garage and entrance walkway. This casual, uppermost tier includes a bar, media and a balcony in the trees.
An elevator and stairway connect to the main level where rooms for cooking and entertaining unfold. A European eco-kitchen with Valcucine cabinetry overlooks a dining area and an outdoor garden beneath the bridge. The flow continues toward the great room and a music/library space that houses a baby grand and the owners’ book collection.
Stay tuned for further details this summer.
